2025 - Present
I have taken these past two years to really be intentional and focused about my filmmaking. My filmmaking journey has been far from smooth, causing such deep burnout that I fully renounced it, selling most of my equipment.
However, after having some time away, I felt restless, like something was missing. I spent years telling myself that that itch couldn't be satiated by returning to a past love. But the stirring grew louder and inescapable.
So, I started fresh and decided to pick up a new camera that subverted all of my previous beliefs; A camera that wasn't "best" in its class, but instead had dated specs. This first step on only focusing on the story and craft, and foregoing the "most advanced technology" took away any pressure to solely rely on the technology, but focus on heart.
After that, I found that spark again.
Now, I treasure the moments I get to capture, remember, and share through this channel. It allows me to reach out into the ether and communicate with those I don't see often. It also allows me to look back on my accomplishments, no matter how big or small, and feel proud of the person I have become. It is a reminder that I am ultimately looking to heal that daphective part of me, and in doing so, maybe I am not so daphective at all.
